Dollhouse Wiring

Well, look what the mailman brought me the other day. :)
Dollhuse electrical wiring supplies.

And, my first lighting fixture, a ceiling lamp for a bedroom.

These all came from Cir-Kit Concepts, Inc.

This is what we ordered  (same order they are pictured)  ck1003, ck203 and ck3717.
Hubby and I both searched around the net for dollhouse wiring sites and this is what he ended up choosing for me.

The only thing is, their shopping cart system does not work if you have IE8, they are working to change that, in the mean time, you can order over the phone as I did.

The stuff arrived the next day, they fed ex everything.

So, hubby said he would start wiring the house, one room at a time as he learns what to do. I'll take pictures of the process. Now, if I can just get wiring the dollhouse in his Top Five Things to Do, we'll be good. ;)

Until then, I'm going to explore shingling the roof and stoning the chimney wall. And hope that it won't interfere with any wiring in the future. ;)

  1. Hi Dale, I was a complete novice at wiring and in fact suffered from "electricphobia". But after some urging from blog friends, I finally took the plunge and did the 1st one myself (although the soldering was done at a shop), I found out that it really wasn't hard at all. You can read all about it here: http://sansdollhousediaries.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-maharajah-palace-day-76-77.html if you wish.

Maybe you can try it on your own and hubby can handle any mistakes later. I also read that the wiring should be done 1st so you can hide them under the wallpaper and roof. I did mine after everyhing was completed but the roof of my tent is detachable so it was easier to hide.

I will be here to share your joy when you see a fully lighted house. Happiness!

  2. Wow, thanks Sans. :)

I am in fear of that electric! ;)

Well, if hubby doesn't get to it soon, I might have to try it myself. Gonna look at that link, thanks again. :)

  3. There's an award for you over on my blog, Dale.

When I built my first big dollhouse, I got tired of waiting for my husband to have time to help me so I did it myself. It isn't too difficult. Good luck!
